Hey email marketer,

Having trouble getting your emails opened, read, and clicked?

Let’s get that solved NOW.

Here’s how to create an “Email Inbox Chainsaw” so you can cut through the inbox noise and get noticed…

We all get a bunch of emails, right?

I know I do.

And I’m one of the weirdos that actually LOVES marketing emails…

Because I’m an email marketing sponge.

Always looking to improve my marketing chops…

But enough chattering from me!

Here’s 3 super practical ways to get your emails opened.

1) It’s NOT about the subject line.

I know, I know…every email marketing course you’ve taken says the Subject Line is king when it comes to getting opened…

And that’s true to a certain extent.

But there’s actually something else that impacts the open more than the subject line.

It’s the FROM field.

In other words….”who” the email is from.

Think about it.

If you’re best friend that you love hearing from is sending you the email and the subject line is: “Hi” - you’re still opening.

The point is…before the subject line, the relationship you create with your readers is key.

So, make sure every email advances the relationship and you’ll get opened.

Relationship doesn’t mean you give away the farm in every email or never sell.

Just be a trusted, frequent, relevant voice.

Be consistent.

It takes care of itself.

Which brings me to…

2) It IS about the subject line.

Didn’t I just say it wasn’t?

Yeah, but it’s actually a truth in tension.

Your subject line needs to slap your reader right in the sub-conscious…

And get their attention.

Of course you can use classic curiosity subject lines like:

“You won’t believe this…”

But that only works once or twice…

So, amp it up a notch with curiosity plus bizarre like:

“I never saw the fish coming…”

Be honest, you know you’re opening that.

But wait, there’s more!

Feel like an infomercial here…

Another subject line magic trick I’ve learned is the one word subject.

Especially if it’s a little random.

Such as “Bricks”

Or, “Mephibosheth”

That’s getting opened.

But that ain’t it, chief.

To cut through all the inbox noise and get your email opened you need…

3) Lights! Camera! Action! in your first line.

Know how gmail and other email inboxes show you the first one or two lines of the email?

Well that means your opening line needs to be hot.

No throat clearing (err…knuckle popping…).

You’ve got to hook em’ in right from the get go.

So, imagine that subject line from earlier - the one about the fish…

Here’s your opening line.

“I’d never seen a Trout move so fast.”

You want to know what happens next, don’t ya?

Exactly.

So, to sum it all up…

Build the relationship with your list - that’s #1 to getting consistently opened.

#2 is using curiosity + weird/bizarre subject lines

Or try out the one word strategy.

Or best of all - hop on my email list right here and get a free email marketing lesson every day.

Last but not least #3 is make sure and nail your opening line.

Start in the action.

Do that and you’ll be cutting through 90% of the muck in your prospects inbox.

Email anchors away!
